Biblical Eschatology

Biblical eschatology is the study of what the Bible says about the final days (the End-Times). I think many people are curious about what the Bible actually says in this regard, perhaps even some without a Christian background. However, to piece the narrative together does require research, and many perhaps balk at some of the symbolism. My goal is to provide a “mud map” or cheat sheet (not a study guide) outlining the major events in a possible chronological order, using clear language that everyone can understand.

This study is relevant today because a significant portion of the prophecy concerns Israel; Consequently, Christians have closely monitored events in the Middle East for decades. What is unfolding right now could be significant and is a very interesting watch.

My default position is to interpret scripture literally. While the biblical text frequently uses vivid imagery, the Bible quite often interprets its own symbols. I do not have an agenda or intend to force my opinion; however, I have taken the futurist's point of view, meaning I believe most of the prophecies are still yet to unfold.

The Silent Generation witnessed the rebirth of Israel in 1948, while Baby Boomers and Gen X have had front-row seats to its rapid restoration and growth, essentially watching modern history and ancient prophecy converge in real time. The "birth pains" are perhaps different; many people feel that society is accelerating, but towards what, nobody’s really sure. Ultimately, whether you believe these events are unfolding or not will probably align with where you stand on Christianity.

A century ago, much of biblical eschatology would have seemed like science fiction: demonic locusts, speaking images, global governance infrastructure, and the Gospel being preached to all nations. Today, we can see this exact infrastructure being built through the internet, artificial intelligence, Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), the World Economic Forum's global agendas, digital IDs, and advanced military weapons.

Sir Isaac Newton, who famously studied the Bible more than physics, explicitly stated that the restoration of Israel was the vital catalyst for calculating the timeline of the Second Coming. He also warned that when "fanciful men" confidently predict a date and it fails, it brings the sacred scriptures and prophecy into public discredit.
